Compliation of LGBT comics

Hi,

I have a friend who is working with Fantagraphics to compile in one graphic novel various LGBT comics.

I told him that I would see if I could find anyone willing to submit things. I, also, told him that I wouldn't just hand out his contact info.

I think there are some members here who have various webcomics or have produced strips in zines or their own self published comics. If you are interested in submitting them to try to get them into this Fantagraphics graphic novel please PM me your contact info, name of the comic, and I will forward your information to him.

I am hoping that we can get some really great trans comics put into the graphic novel.

Hope to hear from you!

ETA: If you know of any web comics or paper comics that you think would be good additions, please comment.

You should check out Ocity and Full Draw Studios, run by my friends Mila & Jayna at Trans-Ponder! :)

There's also the autobiographical "Just so you know" by Joey Alison Sayers

And "Tranny" a graphic novel by Fiona Mallratte

That's just off the top of my head..

Many trans themed comics aren't necessarily by transpeople. Are they wanting comics by transpeople or specifically about transpeople?

Have you seen Misfile? It deals with gay and trans issues, and a somewhat unusual way: http://www.misfile.com/

Venus envy is kind of a classic, written by a transwoman about a transgirl in high school.

My web comic, Out of Phase Tomboy, is about me, so it has trans content from time to time. For the past year it's been in a "Multiple Muse Disorder" arc which is actually, though not always obviously, about GID.

Hourou Musuko (Transient Son) is my favorite trans-themed comic book/manga. I don't know if you'll be able to use it, but I figured I should mention it anyway.

My Life in Blue is a fantastic webcomic that has a ftm transsexual as a secondary character (and then as a main character in the reboot). It doesn't update often, but I love it. The author goes on livejournal as well, I think. There's a link somewhere near the top of the site.

I just started a webcomic called Riot Nrrd that's focused on mostly queer female characters. There's currently one trans character, and there'll be more in the future. I don't think there's enough material right now to add it to a collection, but I'd be interested to know more. It's here: http://www.riotnrrdcomics.com

There's also Khaos Komix, which has a lot of LGB characters and two trans characters, one MTF and one FTM: http://www.khaoskomix.com

It's not specifically an LGBT comic, but A Softer World has LGBT bits in it.

For example:

It also makes me cry sometimes. Sometimes with laughter, too.

I should probably add that it includes baby-death jokes and other things that might make people upset... and are NSFW if anyone reads it over your shoulder.
